FAQ-Frequently asked questions about the balloon show

Question: Does the big balloon ever pop?
Answer: Yes, the balloon used in the Balloon Show is custom-made of the same latex as a regular party balloon. James has to be very careful throughout the show to make sure nothing static or sharp comes close to the balloon or else you will hear a very loud POP!
Question: What is it like inside the Balloon?
Answer: You can see for yourself if you are very lucky! James thinks it’s a life changing experience that should be shared with others. The opening of the balloon is very tight, but once your are in, it’s almost like being underwater or on another planet. WOW! What a great photo opportunity. If you get a chance to join James in the balloon, we’d like to hear your thoughts on our comment board.
Question: What is your favorite part of the show?
Answer: James’ favourite part of the show is watching people’s expressions when they climb inside the balloon. Just be sure that you haven’t had a heavy helping of beans the night before.
Question: Where do you get the Balloons you use in your show and how much do they cost?
Answer: The balloons are custom ordered for the Magical Daredevil Comedy Show and cost $100.00 dollars. You will find it very difficult to find a balloon this size at your local party shop. Please do not try climbing into a balloon yourself. It is very dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing and James does not advise anyone to try it. It has taken James a very long time to perfect the show and was very scared when he first tried it.
Question: How many people can fit into a 6ft Rubber latex balloon?
Answer: The record for the most humans that James has ever put into the balloon is 14 people including him. It was a very tight fit and incredibly difficult. The record attempt was part of the world renowned Calgary Stampede in Calgary Alberta. What a show to remember! If your school, business or event would like to try and set a world record or do a great publicity stunt, please contact James. Your local newspaper will be glad you did.
Question: Do you have enough air inside the balloon when you climb inside?
Answer: Each show James picks a safety crew to manage the electric or gas leaf blower so there is enough air for the show to be performed. It is not known exactly how much oxygen is in the 6ft space of the balloon. Nevertheless, James manages to survive and the audience is always on the edge of their seat until the show is over. The overall show is very safe even though it may not look like it, especially if you are claustrophobic.
Question: Can you use the balloon over again?
Answer: When the balloon is blown up it stretches and weakens the balloon, preventing it from being used again. The grand finale of the show is exploding the balloon with who ever is inside. This is the best part of the show because it can get very large. It's even better if you’re inside! See the pictures in the gallery page click here.
Question: How big was the largest person that has climb into the balloon been?
Answer: Not to name any names, but the largest person that has ever climbed into the balloon with James was at least double his size. You really have to see it to believe it. The hole is only about 4 inches wide and can suck clothing right off your body if you’re not careful. It's a tight fit for most and one of the reasons why the Magical Daredevil Comedy Show is so funny. The best is when someone gets stuck! That's when the safety crew saves the day.
Question: Who was the oldest person ever to climb inside the balloon?
Answer: The very brave and courageous Joyce Hudson from Albert County, New Brunswick , Canada was 84 years old when she entered the balloon in the summer of 2007 on 16 September. The Fair was small but very supportive when the well-known Joyce stepped up to the challenge. Eight other people were in the balloon with Joyce that show.
